About Eric Meyer
Meet Eric Meyer – A Lifelong Resident with a Passion for Public Service
Eric Meyer has lived in Stony Plain since he was just two years old—and there’s no place he’d rather call home. Alongside his wife Angela and their two children, Ava and Samson, Eric is proud to be raising the next generation in a town that helped shape his own values: community, accountability, and service.
Before serving on Town Council, Eric worked across Alberta in the trades and emergency services—from rig hand to industrial medic to volunteer firefighter. He has always made time to give back, formerly serving as a long-time football coach and now staying active in the Spruce Grove Boxing Club as a mentor and coach.
For many years, Eric proudly devoted his energy to his family’s local bussing business—focusing on safe, well-maintained equipment, modernizing internal policies, and building strong community relationships rooted in trust. That commitment to safety, responsibility, and integrity continues to guide his work in public service.
By day, Eric operates a fuel truck—earning an honest living in the trades and staying connected to the blue-collar values shared by many in the community. By night, he brings that same no-nonsense approach, grounded perspective, and work ethic to his role on Stony Plain Town Council. He’s known for his dedication to thoughtful growth, regional collaboration, and keeping Stony Plain vibrant and affordable for all.
Eric currently serves on the Stony Plain Police Commission, helping strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the community. He is also an active member of the Holy Trinity Parish Council, where he helps coordinate events and support parish initiatives.
Whether it’s through his work on the Mayor’s Task Force for Community Engagement, the Public Library Board, or volunteering at community events, Eric remains committed to a vision of Stony Plain that works for everyone—from young families to seniors and everyone in between.
When he’s not working or serving the town, you’ll likely find Eric out for an early morning run, reading local history, or spending quality time with his family.
Oh—and he still has that uncanny ability to know exactly when it’s 17 degrees outside.
